The Iamaphoney Bootleg

If anyone doesn't already know, Mike has put together most of Iamaphoney's music, so that you can burn a CD to hold you over until something real comes out.

Download all three links and save them in a folder before attempting to decompress.

Links have been fixed. My apologies. - Tafultong

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

The quality varies because most of the tracks were taken from the videos, but you will find pristine quality versions of "Saint Paul" and "Now and Then" and I have to tell you, the music is very good. A lot of work went into these recordings and honestly, I'm surprised that Iamaphoney allowed Mike to do this. The track list is not complete. I can think of at least two songs that are missing. Maybe they are being held back as bonus tracks!

But hearing "Saint Paul" especially (a song that I thought was awful until I heard Iamaphoney's version) in super quality makes me really want to hear full version master recordings of these songs. If you like music that is extremely Beatles-influenced this will fit very nicely along side these:

you forgot to add Harmless Game aka Come and Get it

both forward and backwards in superb quality

Absolutely Mike. The whole thing is a great listen. Did you do a lot of mixing and mastering on it? If so, how did Iamaphoney & Co. feel about it? If not, how did you get those pristine recordings? "Now and Then" was the only one I knew about. Was it a peace offering after him standing you up on April 10?

dear rottenapplearmy,

who is Mr. Phoney, Himself?

and who are you?

Hmmm . . . if my logic is correct, it appears the IAAP team is less concerned whether Macca is a high-level Illuminist/replacement (if true one of the biggest stories of the modern era) than they are about releasing a Beatle-inspired album (not the biggest story of the modern era). Their ambitions to produce the latter do not preclude some knowledge of the former (pun), but it is unlikely given the weight of the subject. For starters, if the PID/PWR story is true, then IAAP's "album" and video series is in quite bad taste, considering it is essentially capitalizing on a tragedy and a conspiracy of mammoth proportion.

Have to admit, it would make a good musical!
Of course, no one would be able to use the name Paul McCartney!

I can confirm that rottenapplearmy is indeed...one of the Rotten Apple Army. It's obviously one of them, really.

are you part of the Rotten Apple Army, jude?

if not, how do you know that rottenapplearmy is?

Hey Tafultong, you forgot the Aerovons---those guys sounded just like the Beatles!

THE REDWALLS

almost comically beatlesque.

...one more...

Sorry about the links. I made the same mistake when I initially tried to download them myself. Hopefully you figured out that the words "Part #" were not supposed to be part of the address. Anyway, they are fixed now.

Thanks for the download! How about "I Found Out 95 edit"?

Tafultong said...

Wow, the Aerovons. I did not know about them. Their song snippets remind me of Edward's Hand. a duo that George Martin produced when he needed some time away from the bickering Beatles.

The Redwalls fit the bill too, however, I wanted to name the three that I thought were the most Beatle Paul influenced. The Redwalls always struck me as more Johnlike.

There are lots of others out there.

Yeah, i didn't think it was worth it to add I Found Out

it's only 1 min and i was in a hurry to release the CD

People forget two major Beatle-influenced artists were Elton John and Billy Joel, not to mention, of course, ELO, Oasis, Michael Penn, Aimie Mann.

Can someone host it in another site? Megaupload doesn't work for brazilians :(

That's a shame, MikeNL, as I think this is the best piece of music from the entire IAAP output.

Any idea where this full track can be found?

Links are definitely broken now.
