Three New Items from Iamaphoney

I returned home to find that the subject of this blog had placed three new items in a particular location where he had shared some things previously. Aren't you glad I keep checking? Click on each image to download the original files.

Two of the items would fall into the category of possible artifacts from the planning stages of Magical Mystery Tour. The presumption here is that these are documents from the missing collection of Mal Evans. I am not able to confirm or deny their authenticity.

Item 1:

Item 2:

The third item appears to be a recent shot of Paul McCartney on holiday:

I also noticed that the map accompanying the photo album has changed:

I want to express sincere thanks for the opportunity to view and share these documents.

A little off topic, but I thought you'd like to know, my precious RESIDENTS are getting ready to put out an album, go on tour, and USE the internet as part of the 'performance'!
    From the press release:
The Residents latest performance, THE BUNNY BOY, will launch as a world tour in the fall of 2008. The show will combine music from the group's upcoming album, THE BUNNY BOY (Mute/SDR), with video taken from THE BUNNY BOY internet series, premiering early in September, 2008.

The story centers around an eccentric character, the bunny boy, whose search for his missing brother compels him to post videos on the internet as a "cry for help." As the story evolves, it opens up to interaction between the bunny boy and his audience, causing the narrative to twist and turn in odd and unpredictable ways. Spanning a gap between insanity and self realization, the loony, but affable bunny boy soon finds himself pursuing a goal no less vital than saving the world from Armageddon. It's a wild ride.

The stage design, by Chris McGregor (CUBE E, Wormwood, Icky Flix) will feature a unique "schizophrenic" layout that allows performers to move between musical, video, and theatric realms. Barraging the audience with imagery and sound, in typical Residents' style the performance radiates and savors the quality of a surreal circus. The group will perform their music live while integrating other visual and performance elements into an evening of riveting and unique entertainment.

    peace.

  4. Maybe NOT so off-topic!

  5. And what are we supposed to do with these items? We now have two sources of IAAP material. The videos, and the drips and drabs of documents sent to you. No one knows what to make of any of the "information" from any of the videos, and even less what to do with these artifacts. I think this is why NIR gave up on the IAAP series. There does come a point where you have to say, "Stop!" The videos seem to repeat themselves endlessly, and the briefcase hunts have been anticlimactic.

  6. Thank you. The journey was terrible, but the trip was nice. Read two books, bought four, and held another two.

If we can authenticate any of these items, it makes plausible the suggestion that Iamaphoney actually did have access to Mal Evans' missing documents. There may be other reasons why these particular documents are significant. Mal's story has never been told, but it does exist...somewhere.

That remote possibility is too tantalizing for me to be anywhere near saying "Stop."

  8. You can't authenticate them. They might be authentic documents, but they could be scans or copies from who knows where. Beatle memorabilia is always up for sale, including documents such as these. You'd have to check with a very knowledgeable Beatle archivist type to see if these are already in circulation somewhere.

We do know that someone once claimed to have Mal's papers, but the papers were photocopied. These could be the photocopies.

  9. Why is IAAP now interested in circulating his material within this decidedly "insider" blog?

  16. If I lived anywhere near the area I would be at Santa Susanna in two shakes of. But I'm not. Isn't anyone located somewhat near there. Get the suitcase. But I beg of you once it is retreived, share its contents, cut the bugger open, and go through it like brother Mycroft.

    ......................

The men have been separated from the women who are having tea on the coach.
They are led through a door to a small club by the roadside where music
is playing. Inside there is a stage on which a stripper strips alongside a singer.
She does her act to the singer, who sings an xxsuitable song.(or tries to tell
jokes) The men clap loudly as she finishes her set with a flourish..and the curtain
closes..When it opens again the women from the bus are there in her place. They look
up to see what the applause is about.
The men stop clapping and walk out.

  18. Nobody is getting the suitcase because the game is repeating itself... gas is too precious right now to drive all the way out there just to get a pawn piece in an online viral campaign for the next fireman album.

  19. Hey, yeah!
When is that new FIREMAN album coming out?

  25. If Paul is behind the IAAP thing, even in a roundabout way, it unfortunately demonstrates his disconnect with the basic rules of showbiz, of which he was once a master: leave them wanting more, and don't overstay your welcome.

I have floated that information up there a couple times hoping that someone would shed some light on it. That information was given to me by someone who wished to remain anonymous.

The story goes that in August of 1964, Dean's son, Dino, was infatuated with the Beatles. Dean recalled, "All I heard from him was 'The Beatles...the Beatles'. I told him that while they were a good group, I could put out a record that could make a number one hit."
Dean proved to his son that he was right. On August 15, 1964... the Beatles lost control of the charts. The number one song in the nation..."Everybody Loves Somebody".

    --From deanmartinfancenter.com

Dean's son, Dino, died in a plane crash in 1987.

"...Dino was Dino Martin, son of singer/comedian Dean Martin, and Desi was the son of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Along with classmate Billy Hinsche, they began playing for fun. They'd barely gotten their equipment together when they auditioned for Dean Martin's buddy, Frank Sinatra -- who just happened to record for and run Martin's label, Reprise. By the end of 1964, they'd released their first single for the label, although it was made clear to them that session musicians would handle the instruments...."
