The film was distributed as an educational resource as indicated by a review from the English Journal in May of 1974.
However, it was shown on network television at least once on the late night magazine show "Goodnight America" hosted by Geraldo Rivera.
One of the more interesting sequences in the film deals with PID. Iamaphoney uses some of the stills from this sequence in the recently revised "Hey Jude" video.
This picture is a close up of Paul with his eyes closed and a grimace on his face.
The full picture with the checkerboard background also appears in "Hey Jude."
This is the same shot that is in Braverman's film.
LenMac in Nothing Is Real found the original picture which was actually taken of all four living Beatles in a swimming pool.
Another picture from Braverman shown in "Hey Jude" that has been talked about a lot lately is this one.
All kinds of speculation about this being Paul McCartney shortly after he was killed on an amusement park ride was recently put to rest.
Like the other, it is a fake. We know this thanks to an amazing find by Queenie in Nothing is Real. It was actually a World War II picture.

The Braverman film can be found here. I believe the Apple logo at the beginning is apocryphal.
Iamaphoney obviously owes a debt to Braverman.
The Internet Movie Database has an entry for a Charles Braverman, but I didn't see any mention of Braverman's Condensed Cream of Beatles. I still think it is the same person.

I actually SAW this as a kid, at my public library, with "Magical Mystery Tour" and "Japan 1966".
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, it inspired my to get hip to the 'solo' stuff, showing clips from "Cocsert For Bangla Desh" and other pieces, but MAN, I hadn't thought about the film or who made it an a LONG TIME!

ReplyDeleteIAAP not only perpetrates fraud, he perpetrates other people's frauds. Hey, if you're going to hoax people, at least invent your own hoax. I'd guess those obvious hoax pictures are supposed to be the puppetmaster's clue regarding the ARG.

The quality (and quantity) of many of the clips does suggest they are archival and maybe from Apple's vaults, but quite a bit of stuff came from other YouTube vids and other broadcast sources, like the Heather Mills interviews. I believe the Operating Thetan stuff and the EMI "levels" are clues to the nature of the game.

It has the Apple logo at the end (not beginning, if I recall). It was likely through ABC but for Apple. The film has now been taken down. Too suggestive in that Eleanor Rigby segment where these hints were, though they weren't actually of Paul dead.

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our lives, and I can say with 99% certainty that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.
ReplyDeleteI don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further innovates, the possibility of transferring our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I dream about all the time.

If by "apocryphal" you mean it is not officially made by apple, I believe you are INCORRECT. I have read otherwise.
